Sitting back in my desk chair… Ryan Huston singing “Love You Forever” on my Spotify list…. putting finishing touches on my editing… watching each romantically beautiful image of this anniversary session cross over my screen’s slideshow…
A hand rests on my shoulder from behind as my husband stops to watch. “That… is beautiful.” A little pride rises as I hear this high praise from my hero’s lips.
Then a quiet pause.
He continues, “I’m jealous! I miss THAT!”
Oh. That was unexpected! Don’t get me wrong; we love each other! A lot!
But after mulling over this little conversation, I’m reminded to think about our First Love - the enthralled, intimate and easy love - and to consider its beautiful heights from which we can drift unintentionally.
Well, most of us will have some home time ahead these next few weeks (thanks, covid). Let’s pursue this kind of love intentionally. A few thoughts about that - coming in PART 2.
